Presentation Sheets from Digitally Printed Skirt Project

I was tasked to create a placement print using the digital method of dye sublimation printing which I then made up in to a skirt of my own design.

Having been set the theme of The Tudor Dynasty I researched this area in great detail and found my imagination was captured by fragments of stained glass from the period which had been later assembled by Victorian collectors. I designed my skirt around this concept, creating a bright richly coloured printed underskirt which sits underneath a PVC circle skirt printed with a series of interlocking abstract shapes, emulating the leaded frames that encase the miniature vivid glass masterpieces I was so intrigued by after carrying out research.
Initial mood board on The Tudor Dynasty containing the most pertinent imagery I found during my research.
Refined colour board of images which are of most importance within my project.
Drawing Sheet One
Drawing Sheet Two
Watercolour of the Chapel Ceiling within Hampton Court Palace
Costume Dress Up Day from which I could gather further imagery for my final print.
Generated drawings from dress up day.
Drawing Development
Texture Studies to compliment the background of the print.
A mixture of hand drawn, photographic and scanned imagery that went in to the final print design of my skirt.
Graphic drawings which were transferred to PVC I made in to an over-skirt to be worn over the colourful print below. This is based on the concept of the stained glass fragments which so captured my interest while researching.
Further possibilities for the two prints that I designed.
